Evaluating Information

Use sources recommended or created by librarians, experts, scholars, schools, colleges and universities, professional organizations, and government.

Begin your research early! You may need to order materials from other TNRD Libraries.

Ask for help. Talking to someone about your topic may help clarify the type of information you need. If you need instruction with the catalogue or databases, our staff are here to help.

Give credit where credit is due. When you use someone else's ideas or words, cite them as the source.

Update your bibliography as you find and use new sources. Avoid the time consuming task of trying to figure out who said what the night before the project is due. See our list of style guides for sample citations.
